Update (August 2018). I haven’t used hemp to eat in a while. I do still have great hemp linen blankets and sheets that have been great. I use them in a variety of settings.
There was no real reason to stop eating hemp seeds, I just kind of stopped. I used to use them in my smoothies. Now I use some other ingredients. I may start using hemp seeds again, though I probably wouldn’t use hemp protein powder.
Omegas 3&6&9, DHA, EPA
One thing to keep in mind, too, is the Omega 3 and Omega 6 ratios. According to Naturally Splendid, “One ounce of the [hemp] seeds will provide 1100 Omega 3 and 2700 Omega 6”.
Though hemp seeds may have a good ratio, it may also be important to take into account the ratio for one’s entire diet. So, you may be getting a lot of Omega 6s already, and actually need something with more Omega 3s to balance things out. I don’t know the answer offhand, but when I find out, I’l try to let you know!
Also, it’s good to consider EPA and DHA.
