{"id":3898,"date":"2020-10-27T09:07:20","date_gmt":"2020-10-27T16:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.guitarkitchen.com\/?p=3898"},"modified":"2020-10-31T10:09:37","modified_gmt":"2020-10-31T17:09:37","slug":"gratefulness-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.guitarkitchen.com\/gratefulness-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Practicing Gratefulness (as a musician)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>&#8220;<em>Feels so good to be alive, baby!&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>One of my favorite people on YouTube, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ralphsmart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ralph Smart<\/a>, says this and it does feel really good to say it aloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was watching one of his videos the other day and he also mentioned the first thing he does in the morning when he wakes up &#8211; being grateful to be alive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I believe he says, &#8220;<em>feels so good to be alive baby<\/em>,&#8221; right when he wakes up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What do I like to remind myself about being grateful?<\/em> That I am grateful for a lot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While there&#8217;s lots of bigger picture gratefulness I can think of (health, wealth, love and happiness), here&#8217;s some &#8220;smaller&#8221; music things I am grateful for at the moment!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>What are some of the things (in music, in life, etc) that you might be grateful for?<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Music Gratefulness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To be able to play an in-tune guitar<\/li><li>To get to play guitar<\/li><li>To get to play piano<\/li><li>To be able to easily record<\/li><li>To have a working metronome<\/li><li>To be able to listen to so much great music<\/li><li>To have met so many great people through music<\/li><li>To all the people who have taught me music, including my elementary choir and band teachers \ud83d\ude42<\/li><li>To get to play music with people<\/li><li>To be able to learn to sing, at least a little better<\/li><li>To get to play drums!<\/li><li>While I am excited to be able to play cool new stuff, I am gratefull for what I am currently playing<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes I feel stressed out, or frustrated\/angry &#8211; and not so grateful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, I understand feeling frustrated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it does feel good to relax a little bit (at least my shoulders, which I do sometime tense up in general, and when I am playing music), think of stuff I am grateful for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Full of Greatness = Greatful = Grateful<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I never really thought of this before, but perhaps a person feeling grateful is a realization that one is full of greatness \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I tend to be in the camp of person that thinks everyone (scientifically) is an amazing entity. Just the fact that we are here on this amazing planet is miraculous!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyways, just thought I&#8217;d share this.
